Wonderpieces is a mixed-reality 3D puzzle app for Meta Quest headsets, made by Wonderpieces (independent developer, Brazil). We built it to be as private as a box of real puzzle pieces. This page explains, in plain words, what the app does and does not do with information.
1. The short version
- We do not collect any personal information. No account, no e-mail, no name, no location.
- The only data the app keeps is your puzzle progress and settings, and it stays on your headset.
- Purchases are processed by Meta; we never see your payment details.
- In the app: no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs.
- This website (not the app) uses Google Analytics 4 with your consent, cookieless until you accept. See Website analytics.
- Nothing is shared with anyone and nothing is sold.
2. What the app stores, and why
| Data | Where it lives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Puzzle progress (which puzzles you finished, pieces placed in the puzzle you are building, chosen difficulty, weather and play mode) | Local storage on your headset only | So you can continue a puzzle later and keep your collection |
| Settings (language, audio and comfort preferences) | Local storage on your headset only | So the app opens the way you left it |
| Which in-app purchases you own (for example a puzzle pack) | Meta's purchase service, with a copy cached on your headset | So the puzzles you bought are unlocked, also when you are offline |
This information is never uploaded by us, is not linked to your identity and never leaves the device except through Meta's own purchase system described below.
3. Purchases
The app itself is bought on the Meta Horizon Store, and optional in-app purchases (themed puzzle packs) are handled entirely by the Meta Horizon Store and Meta's billing system, under Meta's privacy policy. Wonderpieces only receives a yes/no answer to the question "does this headset own this item?" so that it can unlock the content. We do not receive your name, payment method or billing address.
4. Passthrough, cameras and hand tracking
Wonderpieces uses the headset's passthrough view so you can see your real table while you play, and hand tracking so you can grab pieces with your hands. Both are rendered by the headset itself. The app has no access to camera images, does not record them and does not send them anywhere. Hand positions are used only in the moment, to move pieces, and are not stored.
5. What we do not do
- No user accounts or sign-in.
- No analytics, crash reporting or usage statistics in the app (the website's own analytics are described in section 10).
- No advertising and no ad identifiers.
- No third-party SDKs that collect data.
- No online features, chat, friends lists or user-generated content.
- No selling, renting or sharing of data with anyone, for any purpose.
6. Children
Wonderpieces is published for players aged 13 and over on the Meta Horizon Store and is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal information at all, it does not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in some other way (for example by e-mail), contact us and we will delete it.
7. How to delete your data
- Local progress and settings: uninstalling Wonderpieces from your headset removes all data the app stored. You can also clear the app's storage from the headset's settings.
- Purchase records: these are kept by Meta as part of your purchase history, under Meta's policies. Wonderpieces cannot delete them, but they contain nothing the app added.
- Anything else (for example an e-mail you sent to support): write to us at the address below and we will delete it.
8. Your rights
Since we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. If you contact us by e-mail we keep that conversation only as long as needed to help you, and you can ask us to delete it at any time. Residents of Brazil (LGPD), the European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR), California (CCPA) and other regions keep all the rights their laws give them; write to us to exercise them.
9. Security
The app runs on your headset and stores its small save file locally. Our website and app files are served over HTTPS. There is no Wonderpieces server that holds player data.
10. Website analytics (this website, not the app)
The game collects no analytics at all. Our website, wonderpiecesvr.com, is different: to learn which pages and buttons help people find Wonderpieces, it uses Google Analytics 4 (a service of Google LLC) with Google Consent Mode.
- What is collected: the pages you view, roughly how long you stay and how far you scroll, which links you click (for example the "Get it on the Meta Horizon Store" button, other outbound links and the FAQ questions you open), the site that referred you, your approximate location (country or region, derived from your IP address), your browser language and your device, browser and screen type.
- IP addresses: Google Analytics 4 uses the IP address only to work out an approximate location and does not log or store it. We never see it.
- Consent and cookies: when you first visit, a notice at the bottom of the page asks whether analytics cookies may be used. Until you choose, and if you choose Essential only, no analytics cookie is set and Google Analytics only receives cookieless, aggregated signals that cannot follow you across visits. If you choose Accept, Google Analytics sets its own cookies (
_ga,_ga_*, up to 2 years) so repeat visits can be counted. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage. - Not used: no advertising features, no remarketing, no Google Signals, no cross-site tracking and no selling of data. The data is only used by us, in aggregate, to improve the website.
- How to opt out: choose Essential only in the notice; clear this site's data in your browser to see the notice again and change your answer; block cookies or analytics in your browser's settings; or install Google's browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics everywhere.
- More from Google: Google's privacy policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
11. Changes to this policy
If we ever add a feature that changes what the app stores (for example cloud saves), we will update this page, change the effective date at the top and mention it in the app's update notes before the feature goes live.
